Hi friends! It has been a long time since I’ve posted. Life certainly has a habit of catching up on you, and my personal life, family, and friends were much more important than maintaining this blog. There’s been a lot of sorrow and pain this last month, and thus I’ve kind of taken a step back from a lot of things I care about. I’m finally back to a normal cycle of things, and thought I would share a day in the life of an oiler with you all.
I’ve slowly incorporated oils into a lot of aspects in my life. The Premium Starter Kit is such a worthy investment, and I could not recommend it more for living a more healthy life. One of the many positives of the Whole 30 is the importance of taking care of yourself daily. To not eat crap, and to care about what you put in your body, through food. Taking care of yourself can avoid a whole slew of medical problems, Weird, that by eating healthy, whole, foods, my entire body and well-being can completely change and function amazingly! That has been a goal of mine with oils as well. I want to take care of myself, rather than having to turn to meds, and our healthcare system, when so much I do can be totally prevented by being healthy!! Being proactive is worth the time and money. Taking care of yourself and not pumping your body full of harmful toxins can completely revolutionize your health and well-being!
One of the things I love about oils, is that it is completely natural and can support so many good things in your body, your environment, and further is good for your soul. This post simply outlines how I use oils DAILY!
When I wake up, I like to roll En-er-Gee on my feet and on my ears. It makes me feel energized and is a good caffeine replacement for all those days when getting moving is tough. I will admit it can smell a little funky, so I created a roller with Lemon and Peppermint mixed in to give it a lighter, more citrusy smell.
I pack a bag of oils to take to work with me. I usually bring Peppermint, DiGize, Stress Away, Joy, and a citrus oil of some kind to put in my water. Peppermint is a quick fix for when your head may explode. 1 drop DiGize + 1 drop Peppermint in water, helps support proper digestion and makes tummies everywhere, happy. Stress Away is a necessity for work and school. I practically bathe in it! Joy is an extremely floral blend. I like to use it as a perfume with Lemon or Grapefruit. (Fill a perfume glass spray bottle with water and add ten drops each oil!). I love to add citrus oils to my water to keep me hydrated and to avoid anything fizzy and bad for me.
When I get home, I usually diffuse something in our apartment. Right now, I’m really loving Lavender. I also hoard Christmas Spirit, since you only get one a month, and love to diffuse it for a homey smell.
If I feel like doing laundry, I have nixed laundry detergent, and go with a more healthful, clean solution! 1 cap of Thieves cleaner for small loads and 2 for more! LOVE Thieves cleaner. It is so versatile! My goal for next month is to get wool dryer balls and get rid of dryer sheets since they are FULL of toxins and are so bad for you. You just put a few drops of EOs on your dryer balls and throw them in the dryer. I have also placed a damp washcloth in the dryer with EOs of my choice on it and dried my clothes with that!
For days when my head is going to explode, I dab one drop of Peppermint under my nose.
For days when my back has been hunched over studying, or after a really intense workout, I love to roll Deep Relief on my back, or rub Pan Away on my legs!
At night, I do a face wash of Sweet Almond Oil, Frank, Lavender, and Tea Tree. It’s sooo stimulating and promotes healthy skin! I also spot treat with Purification!
Depending on the season, what I diffuse at night changes. My personal favorite is Lavender and Cedarwood. But if the pollen count is super high, I like to diffuse Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint, since it kicks butt!!
